I recently graduated from the journalism certificate program at Langara College. This intensive, skills-oriented experience included copy-editing, daily paper writing, feature writing, photography, radio and TV production, ethics, law, civic reporting and mobile journalism. For two terms I also worked on The Langara Voice newspaper and its digital edition. As a reporter I researched story ideas, conducted interviews, and wrote stories for the program’s weekly and daily newspaper. As an editor I edited stories, produced podcasts, edited video and posted blogs to the Voice’s online WordPress site.
In 2004, I graduated from the London School of Journalism with a diploma with distinction. From 2003-2011, I worked as a Freelance Writer & Film Journalist for Eyeforfilm.co.uk, which led me to attend film festivals in London, Venice and Berlin. I also worked as a magazine writer for DV8, Hotdog and DVD Review publications for Future Publishing in the UK.
For the last 12 years I have worked in marketing, mostly in print and digital publishing for academic publishers Bloomsbury, Taylor and Francis and John Wiley and Sons. Before arriving in Canada, I worked as a Digital Marketer at an independent private girl’s school in Oxford, UK.
